The 1.3 kilometers long Gran Vía is Madrid’s most popular street, lined with numerous cinemas, theaters, shops, restaurants and hotels. There’s even a casino!

Gran Vía is surrounded by stunning architecture, with the Neoclassical and Art Deco styles being dominant.

Gran Vía connects Plaza de España with the central Alcalá street which leads further to the famous Cibeles fountain, Puerta de Alcalá gate and Retiro Park.

The street is little more than 100 years old and has changed names several times according to the political climate of the day.
