4 Gats Cafe

Els Quatre Gats cafe restaurant

Els Quatre Gats (4 Cats) is one of the most famous cafes in Barcelona with a unique atmosphere and a very interesting history. Opened on June 12, 1897, it served as a hostel, bar and cabaret until it eventually became a central meeting point for Barcelona’s most prominent modernist artists, including Pablo Picasso.

The bar closed due to financial difficulties in June 1903, but was reopened and eventually restored to its original condition in 1989.

Today the 4 Gats serve a selection of traditional dishes with a modern touch.
