{"id":931,"date":"2015-10-09T17:27:37","date_gmt":"2015-10-09T15:27:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/resapiens.com\/?p=931"},"modified":"2025-07-18T09:13:00","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T08:13:00","slug":"quick-easy-and-all-natural-pickles-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resabi.com\/kitchen\/quick-easy-and-all-natural-pickles-recipe\/","title":{"rendered":"Quick, easy and all-natural Pickles recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Opposite to popular belief, pickling is incredibly easy, and takes only <strong>a couple of minutes<\/strong> to make these McDonalds copycat pickles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can pickle almost any vegetable and make awesome refreshing salads, eat them on bread or as starters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"tip\"><strong>Tip:<\/strong> If you want to make a larger amount of pickles, invite your family, friends or neighbours to help you, have fun, and share a couple of jars with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this recipe I&#8217;ll use cucumbers (gherkins), but you can also use carrots, cauliflowers, cabbage leaves, broccoli, beetroot, etc. and even combine different sorts of veggies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pickles are a also a great way to preserve healthy food for winter, and enjoy your vitamins with a delicious salty and sour taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> Wash the jars and lids with warm soapy water and let air dry before filling.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group recipe-box has-base-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50)\">\n<div id=\"ingredients\" class=\"wp-block-group ingredients has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>500g cucumbers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>800ml boiled water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>400ml white\/apple cider vinegar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tablespoon salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5-6 peppercorns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"prep\" class=\"wp-block-group method is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prep<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mix in the brine &#8211; water, vinegar, salt and sugar in a jar or mixing cup and stir until the salt and sugar are dissolved. Take a sip to check the taste is as you like it, if necessary, add a bit more of the missing ingredient and stir to dissolve again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slice the cucumbers as you prefer, I usually slice them to tiny circles, but you can also make stripes, or even leave them entire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pack the cucumbers into jars tightly, dropping a few peppercorns along the way.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pour the brine over and seal the jars.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let them <strong>ferment for<\/strong> <strong>48 hours<\/strong>. This way the pickles will have&nbsp;couple of weeks shelf life. If you let the pickles <strong>ferment for 4 weeks<\/strong>, they should last at least a year.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Variations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the western countries, dill is often added to pickles.
