Albertina houses one of the largest and most valuable graphic art collections in the world, featuring works of Picasso, Monet, D\u00fcrer and Klimt among many others.<\/p>\n

The collection was established in 1776 by Duke Albert of Saxony-Teschen, a son-in-law of Empress Maria Theresia. It is housed in the largest residential wing of the imperial palace complex<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It contains over one million graphics, works of architecture and photography.<\/p>\n

Albertina’s new permanent exhibition features the most exciting art movements of the last 150 years: from French impressionism and German expressionism to the Russian avant-garde and beyond. You can enjoy Monet’s “Water Lily Pond”, Degas’ “Dancers” and Renoir’s “Girl” and many other masterpieces.

Visitors can approach the main entrance to the Albertina via an escalator or a lift. The main entrance is located on the bastion of the former Viennese city wall. The Museum Shop, the restaurant and the information stand are freely accessible within the entrance area of the museum.<\/p>\n
