Casa Milà – La Pedrera

Casa Mila, aka. La Pedrera

One of the most popular landmarks of Barcelona is the UNESCO World Heritage building known as La Pedrera (The Quarry in Spanish).

Originally named Casa Milà, the last residential building designed by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí got this mocking name because of its natural forms resembling a quarry.

Today the building houses a recreation of an early 20th century apartment with furniture from the time and decorative elements designed by Gaudí, the only exhibition dedicated to the architect’s life and work with his designs, models and photos.

The rooftop terrace boasts over 30 twisted chimneys and fantastic views of central Barcelona.
